My dad was deported 20 years ago and I was a baby at the time so it was also noted on my file so any time I come to Canada I need a TRP. I have been in Canada for 5 years on a work permit but I also needed a temporary resident permit to stay. It was always extended and granted for the sane duration as my work permit. I would like to submit my work permit extension thats expiring soon. On the work permit application there is a check box where it asks to check if you're applying for a temporary resident permit also. My question is do I need to submit a separate application for a TRP or just check the box on the work permit form? Thank you for the help.
