Temporary Residence Visa (TRV) inside Canada has submitted on 21 Oct

Hi All,

I have submitted my TRV application on 18th Oct and it has been delivered to Ottawa office on 21st Oct. It is been a Paper application along with all supported documents and my passport.

Does any one know how much will it take to get processed? On website it shows 19 days for paper application form.

If the website says 19 days, That means 19 business days. will not include weekends and holidays.

Hi, Thank you for quick reply.

I have a following question to make myself understand that clearly.

No.of days mentioned on website was 16 days at the time of my application delivered at Ottawa office. After 4 days (normally on Thursday) status got changed to 19 days.

Here, what is the no.of days applicable for my application 16 or 19?

Kiran.... it is the average processing time for 80% of applications processed, hence you can expect yours in 19 days +/- a few days.

I just applied for TRV last Sept 24 arrived at Ottawa on Sept 26... Now I have my VISA Nov 1, 2013. 6 months validity.

Currently CIC iis working on applications submitted on September 4, 2013 for Visitor visa and on October 11 2013 for New temporary resident visa (For valid Study or Work Permit holders ONLY). I am NOT sure which category you belong to.

My application is under New temporary resident visa (For valid Study or Work Permit holders ONLY) and it is paper application not the ONLINE application. There was not that difference in processing times when i have applied. Now site is showing more difference. It is my bad luck.

Hey, I submitted the same application, paper-based, on Oct 2. Still haven't got mine issued yet, so I'd expect you to wait a few weeks longer.

What I learned from this lesson is that I should always apply for TRV early on when there are no travel arrangements to be made. It would be too late when you have something urgent coming up (like me, who needs my passport to travel to the US).

Wondering about the same thing too. I'm sure nothing has happened to your passport yet. They just have it in the queue.

Thanks for sharing your timeline. What I am wondering is, will CIC give you an update of the TRV approval if you call them?

What it does is that you call CIC @ 1 888 242 2100, dial 1 for English, then 2 for existing application, 6 for TRV, then enter your own client ID and birthday year, the service will automatically tell you when your application is received.

My question to you is - right after the receipt date, do they tell you an "approval date"??

I am so sad because i have booked my ticket for 7th Dec. Now CIC is processing on the applications received on 8th Oct. My application got received at CIC on 21nd Oct.

I think i am stupid i have chose paper instead online. Mr. bondbond, i think u r lucky

You do have a chance to get it before Dec 7. If not just change your ticket even if it costs $$$ there's nothing better you can do, right?
I am being silly too to have sent a paper application.

Is it gonna be more worse?

I really don't appreciate immigration team here. Website says 21 days to process Paper TRV applications. My application got received in Ottawa office on 23rd Oct. Today is 21st Nov, So already 21 days passed for my application but they still processing on 11th Oct applications.

No.of days and current processing dates does not match at all. Can you please tell me which one is more accurate here? No of days? or Current Processing date?

What i have to do now? Would you tell me will i get my passport back on or before 5th December? Worried more now
