Hello everyone,

I have been working on NOC B job since 2019 July. Due to covid, my company laid off me from 23 March to 22 April 2020. I created my EE profile in august 2020 but I am worried because I did not mention that layoff period in my EE profile.

Do I need to mention that gap in my EE profile.

1) If I do, I do not have options for putting dates also.

It will be look like
Company A - July 2019 to March 2020
Company B(Same company) - April 2020 to continuous

Can anyone please suggest me about this matter
Thanks

Hi Sand, I am sure you get useful advice here, I will suggest that you mention the gap, you have to be as truthful as you can. The officer handing your file has to verify your profile, you don’t want he to require explanation from you. So be truthful so that you don’t have any reasons to be afraid. Best of luck

Where should i need to mention this Gap?
1) In Letter of explanation?
or
2) EE profile?
You don't have an option you have to mention it. Due to covid the fact that you didn't work continuously may forgiven but these things are reviewed on a case to case basis. If you are able to wait and get the continuous one year that would be the safest option.

If you’re working in Canada, you don’t need 1-year continuous work experience. Check it out here https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/compare.html

Don't think it matters if you don't report the gap if your reference letter doesn't mention the gap. There is no way for anyone to find out.

Thanks for your reply.

I took EI for that period. It can show my unemployment during that period.
