Hey. We called IRCC today again just in case and the guy said that we should stop trying to link our application to GC KEY only with a temporary number. I asked how come some people are able to do this and ofc he had no answer. He confirmed one more time my file is in the system but still has only a temporary number. That’s all my update for now.

You shouldn’t be able to link until you have passed AOR. There is no need to call and get a temporary number especially if it has been less than 3 months since you submitted your application. People complain that IRCC is so hard to reach but people also insist on calling to get unnecessary things like temporary application numbers versus just being patient. AOR is also being completed quite quickly now so most hear within 2 months. It was a bit more understandable to want the temporary number when it was taking 6+ months during covid to get AOR but now processing is even faster than precovid in many cases there really is no need to waste your own time or IRCC’s. Most are getting temporary numbers just because they have heard others have obtained temporary numbers. There is no benefit to obtaining the temporary number. Please everyone just be patient and you should hear about AOR and be assigned a permanent number in around 2 months. If your application timeline in much longer (4-6 months if applying inland) than others then that is a good reason to follow-up.
Hi
You mean to say wait for 2 months after you get temporary file number or two months from the day you filed application because I filed mine on Jan28,2023 and got mine temporary number on 20april2023 ???
