I am coming to Canada on a work visa and wondering what is the process for bringing a car? I will be driving my personal vehicle (along with all my belongings) from the US into Canada. The car is a US car and I am a US citizen with a US driver's license. I've read that there might be a way to temporarily "import" the car since I'm just there on a work visa. But how exactly does this work? There is something about a 36mo time cap and something else about for the duration of the work permit, but its all so confusing. What if my permit gets renewed after the first year, then what? What forms do I need for the border and to obtain at the border? Any information would be most appreciated.
