Telephonic interview from universities ??

Hi all,
I am applying to canadian universities and I wanted to know that is there any telephonic interview conducted by the universities to assess the student's capability ???

Also, when applying do I need to send my original documents with my application OR the photocopy ?

u need to send original passport and rest all u need the photocopies..

my concern is that i will be bound to just one university at a time, i cannot apply to other universities if I send original documents. :/
