Hello

I am an Indian working as a telecom engineer and want to immigrate to Canada to work there.

Can anyone please let me know if i can apply for a work visa without any job offer letter from an employer in Canada??

What are the chances of getting a work visa ?

According to my knowledge, it is not easy. Need LMO.
You should find an employer with the help of some one. If you need a work permit, you will also require written confirmation from HRSDC that your prospective employer can hire a foreign worker to fill the job. This is called a positive labour market opinion or LMO.

Hi Nitin

Both my husband and myself work for British Telecom in the UK, my husband being a senior project manager and we are finding it near impossible to get anywhere with Canadian Telecoms employers, even though we see vacancies all the time that match our skills perfectly.

It seems that they are not interested in looking at you unless you have a valid PR visa. On the positive side, there are always exceptions to the rule so keep applying for those vacancies.

Best of luck.

Nitin, it is very difficult to find the work visa through employers in Canada. I work for one of largest telecom company in canada and have not seen them sponsoring visas.

Once FSW opens and your job is under the eligible jobs, you may be able to apply
