Hey Shaon,
First of all, congrats on your almost-finished immigration process. As you will hear a lot that
IT'S NOT EASY TO GET A JOB IN CANADA WITHOUT A CANADIAN DEGREE. Well, this is a fact. It also depends on where you are landing/ want to stay.
I passed Electrical Engineering from Ontario last year and working in power field. But I know friends who are in the telecom business. You are lucky to some extent since RF Engineers have the highest starting salary among Electrical Engineers in Ontario (source: Service Canada). There are people who are unemployed even after passing bachelors from Canadian Universities.
My advice would be:
(1) Gather recommendation letters, job appraisal letters etc. from your current/previous employer(s)
(2) Build up your resume after coming here (As I'm from Bangladesh, I know from experience that there are differences in format, contents and all in resumes in conetxt to Canada or BD)
(3) Have patience after landing, don't get frustrated
(4) Make contacts and if you have a friend/family living here, seek their suggestions
(5) Don't feel shy/hesitate to attend University workshops, seminars or anything to get acquainted to Canadian Job Market
Since you did not mention where you are going to land, I'm giving some info of Ontario (the biggest and most populous provice of Canada). Rogers, Telus and Bell are the 3 biggest telecom companies here. Research In Motion (RIM) make Blackberries (worked there as a student); but are not directly involved with any telecom infrastructure. There are Telecom Eng positions available with Utility companies as well. Toronto will offer you more opportunities in your field (in almost all line of businesses
) but again, there are thousands of applicants for one job there.
