Hello everyone

Im an Mbbs doctor preparing to apply for immigration to canada. First of all i want to know how are you guys applying by self or through a third party ( consultancy) and what would you advice me to do?
Secondly whatll be the fee for application at mcc site for eligibility credentials assessment of mbbs degree and can it be paid by Mastercard?
Thirdly, apart from transcripts what are the other documents required?

If you want to practice in Canada I strongly encourage looking at other countries especially if you are a specialist. If you are a GP the chances are slightly better but most IMGs don’t get licensed in Canada. If you do get licensed as a GP through one of the small programs you will have to settle in a more rural or underserviced location. It has only gotten harder order the last few years with more Canadian medical students graduating and less residency spots. Please do your research or consider other countries. So many IMGs arrive and regret moving to Canada when they start the process of getting relicensed and realize the obstacles they are up against.

Thanks for info. I’m aware of the Canadian img steep hills. But to land into Canada I’ve to process via MCC.
There are immense other options and we have USMLE before anything. I’ve planned something for myself. Hope it’s paths to come out better.

Best of luck. Many IMGs arrive and are very shocked at how difficult it actually is especially if the aren’t a family doctor. The residency spots have decreased and the amount of Canadian graduates have increased. Would have a plan B.

You can process your documents on your own. It takes some time but you can save yourself money.

Sad, but true. Canadian system for imgs is a nightmare. Thanks for the response.

There were only 50 something residency spots that went infilled in 2019 and 2/3 were family doctor spots. Given that there are usually over 1000 IMGs competing for those spots that is tough. There are some programs for family doctors agreeing to practice in under-serviced (mostly rural) locations but that is under 100 GP spots across Canada last time I checked. If doctors want to practice in Canada, especially specialists, they should really look at other countries.
