Hi
I am 30 years old right now and I have master in mechanical engineering with more than 4 years of work experience. Moreover, I have scored CLB 9 in the IELTS exam (L8 W7 S7 R7), as a result, my CRS score is 464. Do you think is it worth start learning french to take the TEF exam to increase my score and of course I am a beginner in the french language? how much will it take to achieve B2? Take that in mind that achieving CLB 10 in IELTS is difficult and it will improve my score just by 12 and compare to french 50 points it is nothing.

B2 is advanced intermediate so if you can devote time to becoming fluent then go for it. No one can tell you how long it will take but if you are good with learning languages, can immerse yourself in the language and have the time then it may take 10 months to a year. Join local French clubs or hire a tutor. I am guessing.
