TEF points question

Hi,

If I achieve Level 5 in all 4 areas of the TEF (French test), that means that I get 24 points total? (6 points for each of the 4 areas=24 points)

What happens if I don't achieve level 5 in some of the TEF areas?

Thanks!

Are you talking about CRS points?

If you intend to use the TEF as your second language (in addition to English):
No, you won't get 24 points for CLB 5. You will only get 4 points for CLB 5. You need CLB 10 to get 24 points.

See this table, and scroll down to "Official languages proficiency - second official language":
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

If you intend to use French as your first language, then yes - you will get 24 points for CLB 5.
However, CLB 5 in your first language is not enough to be eligible for FSW.

He/ She, will get some 15-30 CRS points (based on CLB Level) as “ADDITIONAL POINTS” for second official language as well, if i am not wrong. Thanx

To get additional points for French as second language, you need to have at least clb7 in all the 4 competences
