Technical issue with the search function in this forum

Hi there,
My apologies, I tried to find an appropriate sub forum to post this, but could not find anything. And I remember Ponga posting on the issue of lost postings due to the frequent server downtimes, so I decided to post it in my home-forum.

Anyways: I am very, very grateful for this forum and all the members that are sharing their journey and experiences with others. I know that a lot of questions are asked repeatedly, over and over again, and often a quick search could help compare cases.

However, whenever I try to look up topics in the forum, I receive postings from ca. 2008-2011, not ever really anything past these dates. And as we all know, a lot has changed since then, and a lot keeps on changing every year. I found this forum when I googled certain problems that I was facing, and through google I was able to access more recent postings. But what is the issue with the search function within the forum?

Did I miss anything in my preferences? Am I the only one with this problem?

Maybe some senior users can forward this issue, or I am hoping that the admins will read this and maybe take a look.

you didn't miss anything. the search function isn't very helpful and well, it's quite sucky. i've never been able to find things using the search function. i'm sure there is some functionality that needs to be updated/revised on the backend.

on the front page of this forum, on the top right of the topic list, there is a little button that says "new topichread" does that button not work for you?

Okay, thanks for writing this! I ended up searching "technical issue" and a few 2015/16 postings came up which made me feel a bit silly. But I guess I'm not the only one!
