Before you become a PR - no.Hi all,
Is there chance for teaching jobs ( Mathematics- AS and A level) in any of Canadian provinces?
Thank you for the prompt reply.. Of course I have BEd degree. If I send it for assessment in ICAS, do they accept it?No. You need to licensed in the province to teach so you need to have your degrees in education assessed. Do you have degrees in education because in Canada, you do a four year degree and then two years of teachers college for your B.Ed. Then your work experience would be assessed to. Teaching jobs are competitive.
ICAS will assess it but don’t know what it will be assessed as. This will not give you a license to practice teaching. Once you live in Canada, you apply to the provincial teacher’s college and they will assess your degree and work credentials. They will certify your credentials and redo practice s. You may be asked to redo your education.Thank you for the prompt reply.. Of course I have BEd degree. If I send it for assessment in ICAS, do they accept it?
Thanks for sharing such a detailed info.. I am a teacher from Pakistan with experience of 8 yrs in primary section also done B.Ed but I don't know how to start the procedure ..can some one plz guide ..I want PR on the base of my teaching experience..so is it possible ? Plus I am married so want to move with my family. Some of these responses are misinformed. I'm a foreign trained teacher here in BC and I started teaching here on my open work permit (2 years now). I'm not a PR holder but I applied in July. So still waiting. I had to have my degrees and experience assessed by the BC Teacher Regulation Branch. It was a long process (1 year) but my credentials were recognized and I'm now certified. They only asked me to do a three credit college level Canadian history class. Also they gave me a time frame of 4 years to complete it. That was it! I was even able to teach the year I was waiting to get my credentials assessed on a letter of permission that my principal applied for. Every province has it's own certification process. By the way, BC needs teachers. If you got your teaching degree from a reputable school, you shouldn't have any issues getting the certification. It's a long process though so start early.
You can apply for PR based on your teaching experience/NOC. You don’t need to be licensed to get PR. So if you are eligible for Express Entry then apply. There hasn’t been a FSW draw this year but you want a CRS score of 470+.Thanks for sharing such a detailed info..
