I have completed my masters degree followed by bachlors in education(B.ed). My question is what are the prerequesits for being a teacher in canada?

In addition to information by Scylla, you need to keep ready your Education Credentials, IELTS Academic > 7 band and 2-3 reference letters about your teaching experience. The process and fee may vary in different provinces. You need to apply to particular province with your immigration status. They generally do education equivalency and ask you to complete few modules, if missed in your education. This may take one to two year to get provisional teaching / teacher in training certification which will allow you to work at assistant teacher for few / 2 years and final teacher certification will be awarded after successfully completion of this period.
