Taxes question

Hubby landed on Tuesday, and we went to get his new SIN number this morning... We will soon be filling our taxes, but we are not sure which SIN to use.... would we use the one from his expired work visa (expired 4 years ago with his last visa, but we have been using it every year since) or would we use his new one?

I have just finished talking to CRA regarding the same question. I landed last Friday, same day got my permanent SIN.

I would advice your husband to call CRA and ask them to link his previous SIN number and the current one. Most likely his new one is not active yet (as I've been told it takes about a month to link the permanent sin to the temporary one). This way there will be no confusion, you will be able to file taxes with his new sin in a month
