Hello Seniors!

Kindly advise on the following
Can the kids can be taken with you to the test centre?
Can one take turns to take care of the babies while the spouse appears for the test?

Thank you.

This may be dependent on the test office.

In my experience, in Montreal, if all the adults are taking the test, you can't, because everybody takes the test at the same time (they all start at the same time, in particular). Other than the test, it shouldn't be a problem the rest of the time, since the interviews are conducted individually. On the other hand, the whole process is long and boring, even for an adult, so I can imagine this being a nightmare with a 4 year old.

Like Montrealia says, you can't take turns. The CIC will make you choose which one of you will take the test and which one will be (hopefully) rescheduled.

If you can't leave your children with a babysitter or friend, the best solution is to get a friend or relative who's not taking the test to come with you and wait with the children while you and your spouse take the test.

If you can't get anyone to help you out with babysitting don't forget the old adage "If you don't ask you don't get". As most people only take a few minutes to take the exam they might make special arrangements.

In my case we had to take tests at the same time with my wife. A friend drove us to the CIC office and looked after the little one while we were writing the test.

CIC strongly advised not to bring the kids/babies to their office if there's no one to look after them.
