I've been granted admission in Memorial University without ielts, Please can I take the general ielts module for the Visa or it has to be Academics? I learnt some schools have their admission requirements on the type of ielts to submit so it doesn't contradict upon visa application

Thank you for your question. Please check with the university as to what type of IELTS they require. Most universities require an Academic IELTS. You can find an IELTS test in your country on our website https://www.ielts.org/en-us/for-test-takers/book-a-test

Dear Tbabz01,

Thank you for your query. To find out which IELTS module will be required for your visa application, please check The Government of Canada website. You may find the following links useful for this purpose:

Hi there, It's the Academic version of IELTS that is required to become a medical practitioner in Canada. All provinces have their own websites citing the requirements. Here are some examples:

Hello there, thank you for your question. IELTS does not have any substitution as an IELTS result. The only way to obtain an IELTS result is to take an IELTS test by yourself. How to register your IELTS test? Please use the link below to guide yourself on IELTS booking:

Hi, maybe silly question but I just wonder why iELTS doesn't provide detail score for writing and speaking section. We know that we are marked on 4 different criteria and it would be helpful for self-learners to have a good grab where they are still lacking after pay much for the test.

Dear Sirs,
I registered for IELTS and completed the payment. Only problem is I did it as a foreigner with a residency permit and not a passport thinking it was acceptable.
My passport is not valid and is currently being renewed, and that takes a lot of time in my country. The test is within days and I'm wondering if I can't get it in time what will happen? will I be able to postpone the test until getting my new passport? what additional fees will I have to pay?
I know it differs between countries but I'd like to know the general condition.
Thank you for your help.

Hello there,

When you register for the IELTS test, the acceptable identity document is your passport. The identity document must be valid at the time of registration and the same ID document must be presented on the day of the test.

Please call your test centre where you booked the test, to find out whether or not they would accept the document you registered with, whether or not you could move the date or get a refund. You may need to rebook the test when you have the valid new passport. And your test centre will be able to give you the answer.

Regards

Thank you for your answer. Actually I did call my center and they told me they can't get past the necessity of a passport for foreigners as it is a global rule that they cannot alter. They did not give me, however, a clear answer regarding postponing fees.
Thank you anyways.

Hi, thanks for your question. We provide overall score and a band score for each session on the test report form. I invite you to visit this site to find out more about the score details:

https://www.ielts.org/en-us/for-organisations/ielts-scoring-in-detail

If you are self-learning and need to focus on writing and speaking, there is a practice test you could use to get detailed feedback report for all sessions; it is conveniently accessible from your computer and from home. Please check IELTS Progress Check information below:
