all,

if you are self employed - why would CIC asks for T4 slips? there will be non. CIC is asking for t4 slips - any self employed experience the same request in RQ? if so, what did he/she submit instead? and how did it go?

T4s are usually issued by employer. If you were self employed then you might have submitted your income tax return and in that case you can send the copy of your notice of assessment. Please contact CIC callcentre for more clarification before doing this.

Where did you get this information from? Nowhere in CIC website there is any mention of T4. Yes some applicants chose to submit it and I am one of them but it's not required. Also T4 is one of many other documents one can use to prove they were employed, it's up to you to select which one to submit if you have to.

I think toronto_man got RQ and RQ form asks about T4s etc.

CIC does not ask your tax returns at the moment along with your application. You can submit notice of assessment that has the break down of the previous year.
