T4 not provided by Employer How to Apply for CEC

Hello Friends,

I am in bit of confusion state right now. I have T4 for year 2011 but not for 2012. I have been employed in Canada from Sept 2011 - Oct 2012. I am in India right now and my employer is constantly ignoring my Calls and Emails about providing me my T4. He has provided me T4 for 2011 but not 2012.However I have filed return and got some refund in my bank for 2012 based on my Paystubs.

Now I have got another work permit and visa for Canada. But I want to apply for PR this time and want to apply under CEC. I have all supporting documents but T4. Do you think I will have any problems in PR process. I have Experience letter from the same employer.

Contact the CRA and get your T4 from them, if possible.

I called them but they asked my address which is not matching with the file.. So refuse to give me details...

Well give them your old address in Canada? They're just verifying that you're the
person they have on file.

I did that.. But no luck... I guess employer might have given some other address... Well.. T4 is must I guess than...

T4 is a must, yes. What if you ask your employer what address they have on file?

I was in similar situation, and I called CRA from my home country- gave all the information they needed. I change address very frequently so I could not give them the right address in one shot. I had my tax return files handy (only 1.. rest were missing). I explained them the situation and they were very helpful- also forwarded my T4s to a different address in Canada as a friend volunteered to receive it (it would take few months to receive in my country). I would insist you to call them again, be patient, talk nicely, be co-operative- they are there to help you- not to put you in trouble. (Another note: Your tax return documents have your address).
