Hi there, I am still waiting on my Notice of Assessment for my tax return and it is being held up as CIC require additonal information about earnings since I left Canada. As the application asks for the most recent T4 and notice of assessment should I sumit my 2011 T4 and the notice of assessment for the previous year, or should I submit the 2010 T4 that relates to the note of assessment that I am submitting.

Also, the document checklist says only photocopies are required, not copies (as most other supporting documents are required to be). Does this mean I do not have to get the T4 copy certified?

Many thanks

John

If i were you, i would not wait for 2012 return this is because you left the country and you have only one year to apply from the date you left the country

none of the photocopies needs to be certified, unless it is not in ENGLISH or FRENCH - so that means you have to get it certified only if the original document is not in english/french

If you worked in 2011, you should have received the T4 by Feb 28th this year. Submit it along with T4 & NOA for 2010. Include a letter explaining that the 2011 NOA will be sent when received.

Where it says "copies" it's the same thing as photocopies (as opposed to "orginals"). You do not need certified copies, unless you have something you need translated into English/French.
