I talked to a CIC agent today.
One of my questions was about my VO as I didn't know yet which VO is processing my application.
Answer: right now it's in Sydney, NS. After that it probably will go to Ottawa for next process steps.

I sent an email to CPC Ottawa yesterday asking for UCI number and visa office details, and this morning I received the email from them informing me that my file is at CIO Sydney, Nova Scotia!

Like what do I make of it? I am about to complete 90 days mark post AOR, and my file is still at CIO??

Here's my timeline :

AOR Jan 18th
Medical passed Feb 16th
Additional Document - Received and uploaded
BG NN > NS > Not Applicable (since Feb end)

Yes, I received my PPR on June 1st. My BG was stuck at NA till May 29th 2017, then it turned to BG IP on May 30th, and next day I received my PPR.

Hi Everyone,

My wife and I were surprised to know that our application is sat with CIO Sydney, Nova Scotia. We live in Singapore so this came as quite a shock, more so because another applicant with similar timelines (received AOR two weeks before we did) had her application processed out of Singapore and has received her COPR.

I guess this came as a shock as we are not aware of what's happening 'under the hood'.

Does anyone know if this is the initial stage and that our applications eventually get routed through to our local visa offices?

I can confirm that SYDNEY NOVA SCOTIA IS damn slow! I am March 1 aor and my file is still in Nova Scotia till now, I will clock 5months on Monday.

Could it be that any slightly complicated applications are sent to Sydney? FOr me I added Wife after AOR and she has since been added and UCI generated.

Any progress on your file??

My application is pretty straight forward and it was sent there. Hoping you get your PPR soonest. When was the last time you were told your application was there? Has there been any change to your additional documents status?

I really don't know, for me it just shows your file is being looked at

Well I left NA2 to IP2 a couple of days after my initial post

I called cic and was told file had left Nova scotia and now in London local vo! So am expecting ppr anytime soon.

What is the significance of the change to additional document status?

If you got a status that changed to " No additional documents needed " at NA2 stage, it means that your file has progressed to a new department.
For me i confirmed it went to local vo, because i called Cic after seeing that change.

My file was transferred to london vo on July 22. My additional docs changed sometime before that in June.

Now i am in Ipswich since August 3rd
