• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 200(1)(b) of the IRPR (https://laws.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/ section-200.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:
• The compensation (monetary or other) indicated in your job offer and your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).
• You have significant family ties in Canada.
• You do not have significant family ties outside Canada.
• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.

I am thinking of applying for a visitor visa instead of re-apply for an open work permit based on my husband's work permit.

What type of permit is your husband on and what job? Is it a skilled job?

To show ties to home country, you need to show a reason to return so job with approved leave, business registration, investment properties, pensions, investments, loans etc. Family ties are your spouse who is in Canada so you don't have family ties unless you have children remaining in home country. For a TRV, you need to show funds to support a visit. Ask for a short visit of a couple of weeks if you don't have around $10k. After airfare, you don't want all your savings depleted.

Your husband is your family tie in Canada...in fact, as you don't have children, he's your only significant family tie. That's why you were refused for having significant family ties in Canada and no significant ties in your home country. You won't be able to prove otherwise.

You have family ties in Canada, your husband. You cannot prove that you do not nor have family ties in home country. What is his job in Canada?

Yes. You cannot prove ties. You have the same issue for TRV. All you can say is that your husband is working in Canada and has no plans to stay after permit expiry and you will move to xx. Then state your plans - career, get a job, buy a home etc. You say that you have no plans to remain in Canada long term. What is your husband's job and when does permit expire?

Okay. So you want to give some indication of plans after December 31 as his contract is up this year. You need to try and get a TRV or SOWP approved by June because if there is only 6 months left on his contract then SOWP will automatically be refused.

Where do you live? Do you have owned property, cars, loan, investments - anything as a tie?

But you are not in Indonesia so you are not applying from there. You apply from the country you are living in. Being a citizen of Indonesia doesn't mean you apply from there unless you are going back to Indonesia. You still need to show ties to Indonesia if applying from in Indonesia - job, property, family ties etc.

You cannot change to an open work permit. If you enter Canada on TRV then you apply for a SOWP. Same process but just inland.

If you cannot prove ties, there is nothing you can do.
