Switching main applicant ?

Hi,

I am on a work permit (with conditions to work for specific employer and specific location only), my wife had dependent visa. She got open work permit as i am a skilled worker.

Now, wife got a job which is in one of level 0, A or B according to the National Occupational Classification (NOC). Can i apply for swithcing the main applicant to make my wife as main applicant(skilled worker) and so that i get a open work permit and switch my job?

As she has an open work permit, her employer would have to apply for an LMO and if approved, she would have to apply for a closed work permit. Only then could you apply for an open work permit.

How long does it take for a LMO if her employers agrees to apply? and after that how long does it take to close the work permit? Can closing my wife's work permit and opening my work permit can be done simultaneously? If no, then how long does it take to open my work permit?

Any where from 2-10 weeks for the LMO (don't forget the employer has to advertise the job on the job bank first). The processing times are here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/canada/process-in.asp#temp_res
