Dear All,

I am just sharing my real experience. I have been in Canada since march 2013. Here are few survival jobs I came across...

1) Outbound sales call centre

http://www.smtdirect.com/en/careers_jobpostings_directMarketing.html

They are always hiring. This is full time job and pay is $11 per hour. Call the lady called Bev Julian at 416456500 extn 21 to schedule an interview. Make a resume detailing some past call centre / customer services experience. You will need to pass a written test (not difficult like an Ietls reading test and some general knowledge) and then an interview. They will ask about your strengths / weaknesses, past experience, why you want to join the company etc. You can google to find interview questions...

There are also other calling centres like gemma.com,

http://www.gemmacompanies.com/

2) Machine operators

Huge demand in Toronto and GTA.....Kind a labour job but pays good and good for survival

Agencies that are hiring are

HCR.CA

http://hcr.ca/

Kelly services

Apple one

http://www.appleone.ca/

Ranstad

http://www.randstad.ca/

cantech

Pivotal staffing

3) Security Guard

Paragon is a good company to get training with

Intercon is also good

If some one wants to study further then Ryerson university in downtown is good as its easy to get admission there. With OSAP funding one can easily survive without working

Hello buddy,

No idea about Edmonton but security guard job you can find any where in Canada. If you are not getting any job try security guard. You need to do training first which is normally 5 days and pass a CPR exam. Then you need to pass a ministry exam to get license and then you are ready for work. The whole process takes about a month or so. Paragon is a good company and so is Intercon. the companies you do training with they normally hire you and whole training costs around $250 and it varies from company to company

Try searching call centre jobs in Edmonton through google and you will find many. Machine operators also needed through whole of Canada. Just put in google search you will find some..

I guess you are applying as a provincial nominee...You will have to go through

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/index.asp

to check the requirements of each province. Apply for a province where processing time is less and you meet any eligibility requirements..You have to do this research on your own I am afraid...Thanks
