I called and our app is still pending, no test invites yet for us :'(
They have until April 11 to send us those invites... at least a little more waiting, if indeed what the agent said is true!

Did your ECAS online status change?
So thrilled for you!

No, the status hasn't changed yet, and I received an invitation in my mail yesterday, I guess they send it from Surrey, so it only takes 2 days to deliver it.
Best of luck to you Anne, I'm sure it's coming!

I think surrey is slowest office in country. We should ask MP to speed it up like other offices in country.
Mine is in process since 13 months now. looking at timeline of other people looks like it will be another 8 to 9 months.
meanwhile loosing 50 $ to renew pr card sucks as had it been another office would be citizen for long with canadian passport and wouldnt have to renew pr card.

Finally, End of the Road for me. They've sent a letter on June 30 to appear on the oath ceremony on July 18 and last Friday I got my citizenship certificate. So, my timeline is:
August 2012- application sent
December 2012- CIC started processing
April 2014- test & interview
July 2014- oath

Good luck to everyone else waiting, Surrey office is indeed slow, hopefully it'll change soon.

Hi everyone,

Its been 26 months since I applied. I called CIC in April 2014 and they sent a note to citizenship officer who said that my file is in line and that it is a routine application. They said they will give me a test date by July end/August 2014
They also said my internal background check has expired though that they can redo in 2 days.

When I called today, CIC call center said that they will send another letter but cant do anything else...

Not sure what can I do at this point? Should I contact the local MP? This is really frustrating, more so because CIC people don't listen and give different information each time!!

Please suggest
My timeline is as follows:
June 18 2012 - applied for citizenship
June 22 2012 - Rcd application for citizenship
June 28 2012 - Rcd the discover Canada book
Jan 8 2013 - Started Processing
July 5 2013 - Reach surrey office
September 2013 - Started processing in Surrey office

Hi everyone, so glad to find this thread about surrey office. I'm in surrey, the "slowest" in the country .
My time line:
Application received jan 16 2014
In process march 11 2014
Fingerprints required April 04 2014
Fingerprints done April 11 2014
Fingerprints sent to Cic April 16 2014

I called the Cic quite a few times, they only told me that my case is still in process and I'm not on the wait list of the test yet. The only thing I can do is to wait.

Wish all of us good luck!

What's the Surrey CIC oath timeline?
I had my test on May 6, 2014 and oath on July 7, 2014 but my seatmate told me she took the test on April.

Just curious to know, Is there anyone who applied in 2013 from Surrey and got the test invitation. I think the standard processing time of Surrey Office is Minimum 2 Years

So, I had my test on 22nd, and scored 100%. The interviewed coincidently had worked with my previous employer, so we shared pleasantries..now the concern is..taht since I had lost one of my passport and had no photocopy for it and also cuz I had over 32 stamps on my passport, she asked me to sign a formw hich will allow her to pull records from CBSA. She said, if she has any concerns, she will get in touch with me via letter otherwise I will get a oath letter in a month or 2.....been a bit concerned since then! I asked her if this is RQ..and she said no not at all...she said if I was to contact CBSA for records, it will take longer, but if she did, it would be much quicker..she even hinted that I should avoid changing my address to the new province where I am presently to allow a quicker oath ceremony if all is well,...

I had only given a buffer of few days (5) before I applied...can I be in trouble because of this? what will be the consequence if I am less thatn 1095. I don't think the fact that I work for the government for the past 7 years has any consideration.
