Surname different on Passport compared with PR Card

Hi there,

We've recently landed as PR and received our PR cards in the mail. My wife has just renewed her UK passport, updating her surname at the same time (as we got married last year). Her PR card still has her maiden name however (until we request a new PR card for the name change).

My question is, she has a work trip planned for next month to Chicago, can she use her Passport and PR card even though the surname won't match? Maybe she can take our marriage certificate as well to show?

I just don't think she'll receive the new PR card in time for her trip.

She could just use her passport and explain about the card? They will have a record of her PR I would imagine. This is not an official observation, just a personal one.

@Joel19891 I am in a similar situation, what did you do? Was your wife able to travel with passport and pr card with different last names?
