Surname and Given Name Wrong After ITA

Hi Guys,

It may sound a bit stupid but I made my express entry profile and got my ITA. Got all my documents sorted and then realize that while making my profile I put my First name as Surname and surname as Given Name. I did not realize it before because I thought everything appears as it usually does in North America i.e. Surname, Given names. All my documents are correct and passport and everything is like "John Smith" but in my application and ITA it is "Smith John".

Should I decline the ITA and reapply? Or should I give a letter of explanation telling them of my stupidity. Please HELP!!!!!!

make sure name in post ITA form is correct, then submit an LOE - it should be fine
 
That is the problem. I cannot correct the POST ITA form. It does not let me change the name or edit it in any way. HELP!!!

oh..

well its a difficult one to answer , i suppose you can probably just submit an LOE, but its a question of whether or not you are OK with having 6 months+ of sleepless nights...

personally i would withdraw application, delete my profile and create a new one, go back in the pool again... but thats just my personal opinion... (this would help me sleep better at night... know what i mean ?? :) )

Thank you. I was thinking the same thing. My score is 470 so I should be safe. The only thing is that when I delete my profile it asks me whether I have applied before, don't know if that would negatively affect my new profile.

you have to answer no, since you havent got a UCI number (which is assigned after you submit an application and paid PR fees)

it will not effect your application.

Try modify information on top of your page when you are on personal information form.

Any updates on what was followed? Did you reject your ITA and re-create the express entry profile? I have a similar issue where my surname is left empty in my passport. I hence updated my first and last name by splitting my entire name. Would this be an issue while I am submitting my ITA? Or if I provide a LOE for the same would it help? There are no options to edit the names in the CIC website.
 
Not sure how this happened, I had received and ITA, but my first name is repeated twice before my surname in all documents and in my CIC profile.
Not sure how to edit, who I should contact.

Please help

Did you find solution for this? what you did? . Actually I got my ITA and I made a silly mistake in Given name field, now I want to update that field but I can't.
Please suggest what should i do?

Raise a webform and attach some ID proof which has the correct name and explain your issue.

Thank you for your quick reply. Can you please tell me which option do I need to select for change in the given name in the IRCC webform?. Would they update it from their end? Or do I need to withdraw my ITA application?

I am not very sure, but I feel you can select Permanent residence option. Mostly it takes a week for them to respond so based on that you can decide. Else you can try calling them if your 60 days deadline is nearing.
