Supporting documents returned if I withdraw?

Hi,

I applied in Oct 2008, haven't received the AOR and NOT on the 38 list. I plan to reapply under my spouse's NOC, and withdraw my current FSW application package at Buffalo.

Do you think I'll have any problems getting my supporting documents back? Someone on a different forum mentioned that they often DON'T send back the package with the documents when you withdraw it. Has anyone had or heard about such a problem?

Thanks!

Hi,

If you withdraw your application before processing, They will give you application fee. I am sure they do not return any supporting documents whatever you have submitted.

If u need any help, let me know.

San, thanks for replying.

Is there anything I can do to ensure they would send my documents back? Should I just wait for them to assess and reject my application (and hopefully return the supporting documents), because I am not on the 38 list?

I really need some of those documents back (university transcripts), it was really difficult getting them in the first place. Do you think a letter to them would make any difference?

Thank you!

Thanks rupeshhari, it looks like writing to them and explaining my case is my only hope.

Yes, I applied in Oct 2008 (Buffalo, NOC 2173) and have not received my AOR yet; I've already sent a new application to Sydney (under my spouse's NOC).
I couldn't find anything on the CIC website mentioning that the supporting documents are returned (or NOT) if you withdraw. Am I the only one who's reapplying because of the 38 list and trying to get his supporting documents back?

foreverwaiting: As ORIGINAL documents, do you think they include university transcripts (in their sealed envelopes) and employers' letters of reference. That would be pretty much all I need back.

Personally in my case, I got my original experience/reference letters back as well as my original IELTS result. Thus, I would assume that university transcripts will also be returned back to you.

foreverwaiting: Did you have to withdraw and reapply, or you're talking about original documents that they returned after granting you the PR?
My real concern is that, because I'm withdrawing my application before they even look at it, they wouldn't care about any of my original supporting documents at all.

rupeshhari: "Writing a letter to CIC ASAP might be good".
Would that be CIC Buffalo? They have already e-mailed me to fax them my signed request for withdrawal, so I guess I'll ask about my documents on the request. Let's hope that works.
Do you know how long it usually takes for Buffalo to send back the documents and the refund?

They do have a phone, but there are no live operators (Buffalo).
Thanks!
