Supporting documents: child already a Canadian

Hey all,

I've got 2 questions that have been nagging at me...

1) For the supporting documents do I have to provide information for family members not included in the application? For instance, under Travel Documents it says to send "passports...for you, your spouse or common-law partner and dependent children." My son, who already has a Certificate of Canadian Citizenship, is obviously not part of the application. Do I have to send in his passport anyways? Do I have to send in mine since I am the spouse or do I not have to because, as the sponsor, I am not an application?

2) What am I supposed to supply under "Children's Information? The guide only mentions adopted children...do I not have to send anything because my son was not adopted? Do I not have to send anything because my son is already Canadian and not part of the application? Or do I have to send stuff but it just don't tell me what to send? I have his birth certificate, passport and Certificate of Citizenship ready to go anyhow but I want to know anyways.

thanks!!

1. no, "family members" refers only to those in the application applying for PR (so only your spouse who you are sponsoring). This does not include the spouse sponsor or canadian dependants. For application purposes, you and canadian dependents are not "spouse" or "family member", you are the "sponsor". As the sponsor, a copy of your passport is one of the identity documents you can choose to send in. you do not need to send copies of your canadian son's passport as a travel document.

2. I am not familiar with this form/question. hopefully someone with dependent experience will come along to help.

I sent copy of passport and birth certificate and everything was accepted just fine.
We don't have certificate of citizenship for the children.

I think I will just load up the application with everything I have. Better to provide too much info than not enough!

Here is what I plan to provide:

Identity and Civil Status: 1) my wife's birth certificate (the sponsored) 2) our marriage certificate 3) my birth certificate 4) my son's birth certificate (although not an application) 5) son's citizenship certificate.

Children's Information: I do not have a section for this because I do not think I need it. If it turns out I do need it I have already supplied my son's birth cert, Citizenship cert, and passport...

Travel Documents: all 3 of our passports

Proof of Relationship to sponsor: 1) marriage certificate and photos of ceremony 2) Letters and Cards 3) facebook messages 4) her flight itineraries here 5) my flight itineraries there 6) photos of her trips here 7) photos of my trips to her.

+ police report and medical report.
