Hello all,

What are the supporting documents for kids if one parent stays in the home country and the other submits an Express Entry profile with a kid?

I would really appreciate your reply.

Thank you!

If you are taking the child away, you will need a written consent signed by the other parent that he agrees with this and that or a court document granting you sole custudy of the child. I had the same situation., and I could not get the other parent to sign anything since I do not even know how to reach him - he left years and years ago. I ended up going to court.

Wow, that seems intense. Is there a form for a letter of consent? I remember that one of the imm forms was a declaration from a non-accompanying parent, or something like that. Would that suffice?

nothing., still waiting. After the fairness letter, no news whatsoever.
I sent a CSE last week asking for status and finalization of our application, if they have all the relevant information ( and I think they do)., no response yet.

@tatianatiana I think there is a form somplace, the form the non accomapnying parent needs to sign.

Our situation was complicated in a manner that while I already had a court judgement that grants me the care of my son, and for him to live with me., the other parent had visiation rights ( that he never used- as I said I don't even know where he lives, he never contacts us).
I had to go back to court , and obtain judgment that grants me sole custudy., a complicated process since the other paretns wherabouts are not known ( but he is still alive)..

anywhow., I started the application with my familly marked as non accomapanying and then switched them to accomapnying about two months after eAPR (when I got the court judgment) - I dont recommend doing this, since CIC is now interpreting my intentions in a way that they argue the existance of this reason before eAPR, and claim I lost points due to incluson of my current spouse ( we planned for him and both our children to stay behind and then join me in canada later ).

Honestly, I really dont care anymore.. if they decide to refuse my application due to this unfair reason, I wish they do it alreday, since I lost the opportunity to apply to Ontario pnp in the meanwhile, and waiting further is just cousing me to loose more opportunities and time.
If they refuse me, I will start a new application with all of us included anyway-, so I don't see the point why they are taking so long with it.
