Support letter from MP

Hello guys
I am applying for a visitors visa for my wife (we are in the middle of the sponsorship process)

I want to get some opinions from experienced people.
I heard that your local MP can write a letter of support, which increases my chances. I already have inviation letter from me, my parents, letter of support from the priest of the church I go to. And I figured letter from MP would help.

Now when I called up my local MP they seemed very unhelpful. Basically the woman on the phone was acting like I am asking her to fill up all my paperwork, even though I specifically said all I need from them is a letter of support. She says: "apply for a visa if you get denied, come talk to us". Well somehow I think even if that happened she would say "sorry can't help you".

If someone had their MP write them a letter could you show me a sample? Or any examples of how you local government helped?

Thank you so much

That's strange that they are not willing to help at all. I don't know if you'd have any better luck with a Senator - but check who represents your province and give them all a try. Maybe you live in a highly populated area with high immigration rates and a very busy MP.
