Hello,

I am a Canadian citizen and currently working in the US. I filled my Canadian tax last year but my income is not enough to reach the minimum requirement 'coz I only worked till June then moved to the US. My spouse income has more than enough and if we combine our income together it will give us more chances of approval.

Question though. Can I show my US tax return too? Does anyone got an approval from sponsor living in the US? Thanks

Your US tax return won't be accepted. You need to show that you meet LICO through a CRA tax return / NOA. Your spouse can certainly co-sign.

Are you living in the US at the moment. If that is the case that will be an issue. Supervisa is to allow parents to visit a child living in Canada.

Yes I live in the US at the moment. The reason why my parents are coming is for my sister's graduation. I know the chance of getting approval is very slim, but I'll give it a try. Will update everyone ☺ thanks

If their purpose of coming is your sister's graduation, is there any reason you decided to apply for super visa as against the normal visitors visa?

I don't know you and your story but a visitor's visa does sound more appropriate/easier considering you don't live in Canada, do not meet the income requirements for the super visa requirements. You also do not require medical for a visitor's visa.

Just a thought....

if your wife has been living in the US and working in the US you will likely run into similar issues with supervisa approval. Your sister should be applying if she works and lives in Canada. Supervisa is to allow parents to visit their children living in Canada for a longer period of time which is not the case. Seen crazier things happen but the application shouldn’t be approved if your wife isn’t working and living in Canada. Will be interested to see what happens.
