Hello all,
I want to invite my mum to visit me and my child here in Canada. My concern is that my mother's economic situation may lead to a visa request refusal: she is 64 years old and does not really have any stable earnings (has been informally employed, or a stay at home mum with my dad who has passed away. So no pension either.). I have two younger half-siblings (19 and 22) who support her, and honestly she would never, ever move to Canada and leave them behind but I am not so sure an Immigration Officer will necessarily agree with that.
She would come for about 1 month only, and I initially thought applying for a simple visitors visa would be easier. However, reading this forum I saw that apparently the main advantage of the supervisa is that they evaluate the child's economic situation, not the parents. I have stable employment with a well known employer and am fortunate enough to have a good salary that would allow me to cover all of my mom's expenses during her visit (I meet the economic requirements for the supervisa). I was thinking of writing an invitation letter for her stating that I will be covering all expenses and providing my employment letter and bank statements for her visitors visa, but read that apparently they do not take that into account for a visitors visa - is this true?
Based on your experiences, would you advise me to apply for a visitors visa or a supervisa?
Finally, my mum and siblings live in a house that is in the name of my sibling (inherited from my father). Would it do any good to include to land tittle in the application? Or would it be useless for my mom since it is in my siblings name (who is 19)?
Thank you all so much in advance.
