Hi,

I applied for my mother’s supervisa 6 months ago. The biometric was completed 5 months ago and last week I received the rejection letter.

I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR).

PG-1 criteria not met.

Could anyone help with PG-1 criteria?

Do you meet LICO? How many people in your family including parents? Insurance paid? Medical passed?

Yes I meet LICO and we didn’t received a request for medical. The medical insurance was tentative.

Can you explain what you mean by tentative for the insurance? You need to purchase insurance for a year before applying.

Also, I'm pretty sure you need to complete the medical before you submit the application. So if you didn't do that, this is probably one of the reasons why you were refused.

We don’t receive a request to complete medical. They usually send out a letter when medical is requested in order to make appointments.

Regarding insurance, we received the plans for the provider but I believe the insurance application was not processed - my sister was taking care of it and there has been a misunderstanding.

I have seen a case where a TRV was issued when the application was Super Visa PG-1. This was because PG-1 criteria was not met due to LICO and insurance requirements.
But its weird that they rejected the application at all.

They needed insurance paid for. So that the reason for rejection. No reason to continue with medicals since the application wasn’t complete.

You need to make sure the insurance policy was actually purchased. You need to sort this out before applying again. Sounds like your application was incomplete so makes sense it was refused
