SuperVisa re-entry restriction

I want to invite my parents to Canada on a supervisa. I am a permanent resident living in Toronto. I consulted an immigration agent recently and I was told that a supervisa has a re-entry restriction and that once Parents come in to Canada and stay for a certain length of time (say 1 year) they will have to leave and spend an equal amount of time outside Canada before re-entering. Is this true? I am not seeing any reference for this policy anywhere. Is there a minimum amount of time that visitors on a supervisa have to spend outside Canada before re-entering?

There's no specific policy. As with any other visitor visa, it's entirely up to CBSA how long your parents are allowed into Canada each time they arrive. Generally speaking, if they have spend 1-2 years in Canada and leave, they would want to spend at least 6-8 months in their home country (more is better) before returning for another visit (especially another long visit). A super visa does not allow your parents to move to Canada permanently - just visit. They should still maintain strong ties to their home country. If it starts looking like your parents are using the super visa to move to Canada and live here permanently, they may end up only being granted a short visit by CBSA - or (although rare) even refused entry.
