HI,

My wife and I got our Permanent residency in the beginning of this month. We've received our Ecopr and waiting for our PR card.

We want to get our parents here and apply for super visas for them. When I spoke to an immigration lawyer, I was told that it's better to apply for either one's parents first and then apply for the other parents as the chances of the visa getting rejected if applied for all 4 together is high. Is it so? The processing time for super visa right now is around 250 days, so by the time we get it processed for all 4 of them, it'd be 2 years.

Need some expert opinion here.

Note: My wife had applied for visitor visas for her parents during her college days, but it got rejected. Will this cause any issue if applied for all 4 of them together.

TIA

Would apply for one at a time. Would start with the parents with the strongest ties to their home country like a home and the better finances. Supervisas remain only visitor visas so they are only visiting and will have to return home at a certain point so delaying their visit a little bit is not a huge issue. Supervisas aren’t taking 250 days. What country?

It wasn’t taking 244 days if they had biometrics because parents were given priority processing. The processing time is so long because biometrics weren’t available in India for a long period of time and if you hadn’t done biometrics in the past 10 years you either had to travel to another country or your application was out in hold until recently when biometrics became available in India for visitors.

Got it. Thanks :). Will start with my inlaws application as they already have the biometrics given, hope it gets processed soon.

Thanks for your guidance

If they need further TB testing that can slow processing because they need to grow the sputum culture for months and repeat the chest x-ray. Pretty common for something to show up on chest x-rays in older people. It is often just scaring from previous infection.

Thanks for this info. They don't have any history, I hope the medical gets cleared without any hinderance
