Hi there,

My parents were issued a Supervisa in December 2014 till the expiry of their passport to March 2016. They travelled to Canada last year and left for home in October 2015. Now they want to come for another visit to canada in January 2016 and this time they would like to stay for a bit longer.

My questions are:

Can they travel with the old passport, which has the supervisa sticker and the new renewed passport? Or is the sticker considered "cancelled" once they renew their passport?

Are they able to extend their stay beyond the expiry date of the sticker in their old passport, once in Canada? Or should they leave by March 2016 and reapply for a new supervisa back home?

Thanks for the help.

I think the visa on the old passport would still be valid. When they travel, they would have to carry both the passports.

BUT... Very frequent visits to Canada is not advisable because the VO will think that your parents DO NOT have ties in their home country. So, a gap of 8 - 12 months is highly recommended before coming back to Canada.

I am not sure about the extension of the visa.
