Hi There, Please help me to find the answer of below.

1. Do we have to include 19 years old kids to calculate LICO if they are living with parents at the same address ?
2. I lost the job but my last year income statement makes me eligible to apply for my parents. Do I need the job to apply?

Thank you so much.

For sponsoring you need minimum income but for super visa please check CIC website.....

1) Yes as far as I remember for sponsoring parents. Please check CIC website.
2) You need LICO for 3 consecutive years before applying(for sponsorship).Yes you need a job or minimum income. Please refer to CIC website for exact requirement.

Extract from CIC site:

To apply for the parent and grandparent super visa, you must:

be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada,
be allowed to enter Canada and
meet certain other conditions.
Note: You cannot include dependants in this application.

Immigration officers consider several things before they decide if you can come to Canada. You must be a real visitor to Canada who will leave by choice at the end of your visit. An officer will look at these things when you apply:

your ties to your home country,
the purpose of your visit,
your family and finances,
the overall economic and political stability of your home country, and
an invitation from a Canadian host.
You must also:

prove that your child or grandchild in Canada meets a minimum income threshold,
provide a written statement from that child or grandchild that he or she will give you financial support,
have valid Canadian medical insurance coverage for at least one year and
have an immigration medical exam.

Sorry, Hasan, that’s mixed bad advice.

The Parental/Grandparent Super Visa requires LICO from the “most recent Notice of Assessment” as an option (as you were working last year) or an “Original letter from employer stating title, job description and salary” (if your last year salary wasn’t as good). Just the latest year is required (3 years are required for the Parental PR Application).

For family size counting it’s:
1) You
2) Your spouse
3) Your dependent children
4) Your parent plus their spouse

Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations section 2 defines “dependent child.” Paragraph (b) of this definition provides that a dependent child “is less than 19 years of age and is not a spouse or common-law partner,” or that he or she “is 19 years of age or older and has depended substantially on the financial support of the parent since before the age of 19 and is unable to be financially self-supporting due to a physical or mental condition.”

At 19, they are not a dependent unless there is a physical/mental condition.

Hi,

Thank you for your clarification and information on the topic. Please note that I have asked the OP to refer to the CIC website as I was not sure...

There was no advice......Just a mere discussion!

Parents sponsorship PR visa and super visa eligibilities are different....we discuss in the open forum so that member like you come in and contribute towards correctness of a particular issue. Appreciated....
