Hey everyone!
Just submitted a Super Visa application for my parentS through the IRCC portal and got the Biometric Instruction Letter (BIL) on the same day!
If you’ve applied for the Super Visa this September'24, drop your timelines and updates here. Let’s track our progress together and help others!
Good luck to all!

My Timeline:
  • Applied for both parents through a single application (200 CAD Visa fees + 170 CAD Biometric fees)
  • Upfront Medical: 24 AUG 2024
  • File Submitted: 2 SEP 2024
  • BIL Received: 2 SEP 2024 (within 2 hours of submission)
  • Biometric Appointment: To be scheduled
May I know need to upload the photo to IRCC portal ? Are you complete the form on behalf of your parents , the IMM 5476 is it both parents need to sign in the same form or just sign their own IMM5476 ? thanks

Yes, I completed the application as a authorized representative.
I recall asking IRCC specifically about IMM 5476 during a phone call, and the agent advised me to fill out two separate forms. It’s quite confusing because under Section D, point 10, it mentions the 'Declaration Signature of Spouse' for sponsorship applications. I was told this applies only if the primary applicant is sponsoring their spouse, in which case the spouse would need to sign in that space.

However, this doesn’t apply to Super Visa cases. For Super Visa applications, your parents need to sign two separate forms, and the spouse signature space should be left blank.

Please note: Fill out the details on the computer, print it, physically sign it, scan it, and then upload it.

Hi , I applied super visa for my father

timeline:

Applied: Sep 22, 2024 (father)
Bio : Sep 22, 2024 (Already done for a visitor visa)
Eligibility: Not started
Medicals: (Not updated)

Quick question, Do my father need to do medical test upfront (before submission), I didnt find the information anywhere that to submit the medical before the submission. Can you help me on this issue?
Hi, Please refer this Link: Medical exams for visitors, students and workers

No, your father doesn't need to do the medical test upfront before submission. For a Super Visa, you'll typically receive instructions for the medical exam after the application is submitted. It's not mandatory to submit the medical exam results beforehand unless specifically requested.
That said, it might be helpful to do the upfront medical exam, as some people believe it could speed up the processing time—though there’s no guarantee, just speculation. For example, I submitted the upfront medical for my parents and haven't received any updates since Sep 2, so it doesn't make difference whether you do it in advance or wait for their instructions.

I advise everyone not to submit multiple or unnecessary web forms for the same query. If you feel a web form is necessary to support your application, please proceed.

I recently filled out a web form to inquire about the status of my upfront medical exam, and I received an email from IRCC stating: 'Please note that sending repeated case status inquiries takes resources away from file processing, resulting in longer processing times.' I realized afterward that I shouldn't have submitted a web form just to ask about the upfront medical exam status, as there are genuine delays in processing times.

Just a heads up for everyone:

Country: India
Processing Time (Last updated: October 1, 2024): 94 days Super visa (parents and grandparents) Processing time

Hello Everyone,
I applied Super Visa for my mom who already had an existing one but her visa got expired with the passport. We applied her super visa on September 13th and we got the biometric done on 18th September. We realized that we have by mistake entered her as Male (M) so we raised a webform right before she went to the biometrics. Here are our concerns. Please help us
1. When I used her existing UCI for some reason when we did through the new online portal she got a new UCI . Is this okay ? Could it be because we chose Male by mistake? Now how do we rectify this ?
2. Her biometrics is not updated yet - it’s been more than 48 hrs and her application did not get updated with her biometrics details. What do we do for this ?
3. For the web form we raised to change her from Male to Female we did not get even the automated response . Will this delay the process ? How can we rectify this ?
Please help as I am really looking forward for my moms presence in Canada
  1. Regarding the new UCI: It’s possible that since this is a new application, the system generated a new UCI. This can happen even if you used her previous UCI (which was associated with expired visa).
  2. About the biometrics not being updated: It’s quite common for updates to take some time. I suggest checking the timelines of other applicants to get a better idea.
  3. On the web form for correcting the gender issue: Normally, you should receive an automated response after submitting a web form. If you haven’t received anything, make sure that the web form was correctly filled out and submitted to the appropriate visa office.
I recommend calling IRCC to confirm the appropriate steps to take. Hope this helps, and best of luck with your mom’s application!

Thanks , but where I can upload the photo ? I didn’t see the field for uploading the photo . Also , if I complete the form as a representative , then the IRCC portal , should I sign up using my name and email address or using my parents , thanks

If you don’t see a photo upload tab in your application, that likely means there’s no requirement for a photo for the Super Visa.

For signing up, you can use either your own credentials or your parents’. However, if you’re acting as an authorized representative, all correspondence will go to you, not your parents. IRCC doesn’t have any specific requirements for the sign-up credentials. Is that clear, or do you have more questions?

Thank you for your reply.
I still have questions.1) My parents have sufficient fund to come to Canada , not really need my financial support , then there is a question asked”Is someone else giving you money for your stay in Canada” ,this question should I answer “Yes” or “No”. Of course , my invitation still stated that I will financial support them for entire stay in Canada
2) I need my husband as a co-signer to meet the LICO, in this case , there is a question asked “Has someone else also invited you”. Do I need to tick “ yes “or “no” . Did my husband count as someone else ?
thanks

1) “No” since your parents don’t need financial support, but clarify in your invitation that you’ll be supporting them.
2) You would say “Yes.” Since You're including his/her income to meeet LICO. If you're uncertain, it’s always good to consult a regulated immigration consultant and include a Letter of Explanation (LOE) where necessary. Good luck!
