Super Visa ReEntry Requirements

Hi everyone,

My parents have been in Canada for almost 2 years under the super visa. Their entry visa did not indicate when they have to leave but we are assuming 2 years. They are about to travel home and come back within 3 weeks.

Question: what do they need to bring with them when they re enter? Their health insurance has expired. Has anyone's parents been asked for the health insurance when entering with super visa? Also should we expect issues at the border if there are no expiry dates on their initial entry?

Thanks a lot!

Hi Winnifred,

As a condition for Super Visa you do need Super Visa Health Insurance for your entire stay in Canada. The Immigration official has the right to stop entry into Canada if all the documents are not in order and that includes Health Insurance requirement.

By the looks of it your parents want to spend a lot of time with you here in Canada. You do not want to create an issue with immigration officials and restrict there travel to Canada in the future.

Having said that, you may want to note that my comments may be biased since I am an Insurance Broker and selling Insurance is my business.

Thank you
