Super Visa question

Hello all,

I have applied for my parent's super visa in september 2024. Supervisa timelines seems crazy right now.

In the application, the expected entry date they entered is Dec 15, 2024 and super visa insurance is valid from Dec 15, 2024 to Dec 15, 2025

Now looking at the current timelines and status, I don't think I will hear anything from IRCC before Dec 15, 2024.

Should I change the super visa insurance date validity for sometime next year so that they remain eligible in terms of insurance requirements of minimum 1 year?

It won’t matter for supervisa processing. All that matters is that you have proof of a 1 year supervisa policy.

Hi,
I applied for super visa for my parents on Dec 6th and I have their tickets booked already for April 2025. What are the timelines for Super Visa? has anyone received their super visa approval in 2 months? My parents already have biometric and medical done before the application to speed up the process (they have TRV refusal before). Any feedback or similar timelines will be highly appreciated.

Hello,

From which country have you applied the visa? Timelines for India is about 130 days right now as per ircc website. But it has been increasing every week. It seems like they are not following any queue. I applied on Sep 1, 2024 with upfront meds done but still no progress to the application. However, I know few people from Oct, Nov have already got ppr.

Hope you get a rough idea of timelines from this.

Nobody can give you an exact estimate because it depends on the application. Your parents could also require TB testing which would add another 3 months. IRCC is very clear that people should not purchase tickets until they have a stamped passport.

Thank you! Tickets are changeable , that's not an issue. I purchased to show, they have everything planned to be here.. Hoping for the best..

Hi- question for anyone who might have an answer :)

I have re-applied for my mom's supervisa on Dec1st and its been 2 weeks, there has been no movement in her application. Is this normal?
She was in Canada on super visa for 1.5years and left for India in Sept. Since her passport was expiring, I had to re-apply for visa.

Last time i.e. in 2022- this was the timeline of her application:

Application submitted through GCKey- Jan 23rd
Biometric request- Jan 24th
Biometric completed- Jan 28th
Medical request- Feb 8th
Medical done- Feb 25th
Medical passed- March 8th
Application approved- March 10th

As you can see, she got her medical request in 2 weeks, so i am a little concerned as this the first time i have applied thru the ircc portal instead of cgkey.
her biometric remains the same since it's valid for 10 years. but i am wondering on medical request and why it hasn't come in yet :(

You can’t compare processing times between years. Also slightly risky to apply for another supervisa so soon after returning from a long visit to Canada.

Supervisa is intended for long stays, correct? At one visit, they can stay upto 5 years.

It is intended for longer visits not 6 months like regular TRV. It does not allow to relocate to Canada permanently. You can be awarded up to 5 years the 5 years is not guaranteed.
