Hello, I want to apply for a super visa for my mother who is a government employee back in India (strong home ties). In my letter of invitation, I am just showing her stay to be of a month or two but I want to apply for her super visa because she plans to stay in Canada for more than 6 months in the future. How to deal with this situation so that the officer doesn't give us a visitor visa instead of a tourist visa?

Would put over 6 months on the form but specify in a letter that she only plans on staying for a few months initially but wants to stay longer in the future which is why you wish to be considered for a supervisa.

Would you recommend changing the original stay length to more than 6 months? I am just not doing that since I don't have a strong reason to prove what she will do in 6 months since I am single(have no wedding, baby excuses) and my mother is a government employee due to which the officer can think that she has a job that she has to join back and would not permit to give her 6 month of vacation.

I did the mistake of putting in 7 months just to get Super Visa as my parents planned to stay for about 6 months this time. The Super Visa was refused last week, the visa officer stated the reason time frame doesn't look right. So what VO is trying to tell me is apply for visitor visa and not Super Visa. Even though it is not VO's decision to take as to how long our parents want to stay but no one (apart from lawyers) can debate with IRCC. So I would strongly suggest apply for at least 1 year and get a letter from your mother's workplace that is she taking off 1 year from work. She doesn't have to but just for the purpose of Super Visa you would need that.

Oh! I just read 2 comments who had written 2 and 3 months in the stay and still got a super visa. not sure what's happening with the cases. Did you meet LICO and bank balance stuff? How long have you been a PR for?

So I had 2 refusal reasons - One was time frame and other was no LICO proof provided. Even though I did provide my pay slips, job letters and then once I filled my taxes, I sent through my NOA as well but still refused. I have re-applied again so lets see..
