Hello,

I just have a very general question. I recently landed as immigrant in Canada in Jan-2013 and got the PR card in Mar-2013. Now suppose, ideally if I get a job in June this year then can I simply apply for my mother's super visa or do I have to wait next year (till May-2014) till I file the tax. The purpose of my question is to estimate the general timeline, since my mother would have to stay alone during the process.

I would really appreciate your reponse. Thanks & Regards,

You can apply for her supervisa once you have earned the Low Income Cut Off from Canadian employment.

Hi PMM,

Thanks for your response. The LICO on CIC website is mentioned on per annum basis (approx 50,000) for family size of 4+1. This means that within 1 month of getting a job I would not be able to apply but will have to wait till the sum of my monthly salary touches the LICO of 50,000. Please advise whether I have understod correctly.

Regards,

Hi anmol123,

I can apply for the super-visa, but just wanted to have a rough idea as to when / how soon can I apply. Since I am trying to guess the over-all timeline.

Thanks & Regards

smed74, you don't have to have to filed your taxes and get a T-4 for the LICO....you can definitely apply in advance. I recently returned to Canada and applied for a super visa for a mother in law about four months after I started my new job. I did not have any T-4's and had not yet earned the LICO amount; however, I provided proof through paystubs and an employment letter to show that I was on track to meet the LICO requirements on an annualized basis. To strengthen the application, I also provided proof of additional financial capabilities (i.e., bank investment account statement) to show that sufficient financial resources weer available to support the sponsored person. The visa was approved.

Good luck

Hi torontosm,

Thanks a lot for clarifying. This has given me a positive hope for planning for super visa.

Best Regards,
