SUPER VISA(BIOMETRIC PASSPORT-FINGERPRINT&PHOTO NEED to be taken,but VAC far!!!

Hey there,

Does anyone have ever experienced this;

I got a letter from CIC requesting my mom to show up at VAC and get her fingerprints and photo taken since my home country uses biometric passports. But it turns out that the closest VAC is almost 70% of what my mom would spend for her airfare to canada(and that's only 5 minutes to get her fingerprints and pict. done),another way it is just ridiculously far, the closest Canadian high commission is not designated as a VAC. I tried to call CIC to let them know what is happening, but they have a high volume of calls. Anyone has an idea on how to proceed or do???

She can write to both the visa post (which is in itself a challenge as there is no application in place yet) and the VAC and explain her challenge of not getting the biometrics and in effect request a waiver but the downside to this is that it raises whether she has enough money for the Canadian trip. If she just ignores the request or doesn't communicate the situation the application will be rejected for not meeting the requirements. To clarify is the biometrics issue due to her being a national of a country where this is required as opposed to because she holds a biometric passport?

She holds a biometric passport and a national from a country where the biometrics are required. So we are trying to communicate with VAC and see what they have to say.
