You may want to check with forum member 'Raj2014' because his mom and sister had applied from Ahmedabad and recently got their TRVs

Hi everyone.
I am going to apply for a super visa for my parents. I have a question.
My father does not know the birthday, address and phone# of some of his siblings (he has nine of them).
What should we do?
I appreciate any help.
Thanks a lot.

Hey guys;

I know you all have been very helpful all the time and I am very thankful to all of you. But today I know wanna know what is the time line for Supervisa - Website says 6 days but when I consulted with insurance broker they said 4-8 weeks. Can you someone please shred some light on it for me?

Also what are the chances of getting super visa? My mom already has a 10 year mutiple regular visitor visa but my dad got rejected 3 years ago (both applied individually) , I am little nervous here and want my dad to visit me.

Any help or advise would be great.

Thanks

Chances are all left up to the CIC - All you can do is try again - do an upfront medical this time when you do apply, and apply online.

Hi everybody,

In form 5257E, I have to mention if my mother is able to communicate in English, French, both or Neither.
My mother only knows simple words and sentences and can communicate in English a little bit.
Should I choose English or Neither?
Why do they ask this question?
Does answering "Neither" have a negative effect on the approval of application by CIC?

Thanks you very much in advance.

i also selected neither for my mother. And kinda worried about it.

Btw my parents applied for Super visa but only my father got the medical request.

What Does it really mean?

Should I email them and ask why my mother did not receive the medical request? :-[

If you are really worried - have them do an "up front medical" that way it saves on time if they do happen to ask for it. I wish we asked for the up front medical sooner as they found a problem and we now have to wait until mid june (been waiting since april) for the results of the tests they performed... unfortunately we're going there in june and wanted them to come back with us.

ok this is how I sorted out.

I went ahead along with my father to do his medical test.

Then asked the guy who has access to a computer system. He checked with my mother's passport # and said they received Medical request for my mother. He then gave a printout of a form ( quite different from the one that was sent for my father from CIC)

The form has a IME # with barcode and information of my mother such as her name, passport#,issue date and list of exam required.

I'm still not sure whether i'm being scammed or not but I went ahead and did medical test for my mom.

lets see what happens next.

Dear All,

I'm glad to inform, parents reached Canada safely on last week & got 2 years stamp as they are on Super Visa & my brother & sister in law invited them.

I would like to know something, (need expert advice), Is there anyway, they (brother & sister in law) can apply PR for parents, before finishing 2 years ? any kind of option is there ? Thanks in advance.

The super visa system was intended to reunite parents with their children quicker - the PR (family sponsorship) process only allows 5000 applicants a year - so you have to apply over and over again until they happen to get into that 5000 allowance. So a lot of people (like us) go with the super visa and then when it opens apply for sponsorship - it's currently closed for this year.
