The immigrant's instruction guide states that the sponsored person should place their documents in a sealed envelope and mail them to their sponsor. As my wife and I live together, there is no need for her to mail the application to me. Should I still place her application and supporting docs in a sealed envelope inside the main envelope with my sponsorship app?

We're mailing this out tomorrow, so I'd love to know for sure! Thanks a million everyone!

Hi you can do whatever you want.
But we did put our forms in different folder

The very knowledgable Ponga suggested you days ago: (actually that's exactly what we did )

'Everything gets put into a large envelope (or even a small box for some) that will contain 3 smaller envelopes:

Sponsor's forms and requested documents

Applicant's forms and requested documents

Evidence of your relationship (such as photos, cards, letters, testimonials from family and friends, etc.).'

Yes you are thinking the right way may two separate envelopes, one each for sponsor and applicant and then put them in one large package. We also did the same way, cheers!!

Lots of ways to do this. I just sent two piles of paper with a bulldog clip on each, all in the same envelope. Keep it simple.
 
that is for when the applicant and sponsor don't live together, or are not together when they send in the application. if you are living together, you can obviously skip that step. all that matters is that both applications are sent TOGETHER to mississauga. it's also not necessary to use different folders. i sent all of my papers in 1 envelope, separating the sponsor and applicant papers by clips. I had no issues at all with my application.
