Hello,

I've dealt with some immigration consultants before and hadn't had the best experiences. So I know a thing or two about lousy lawyers.

HOWEVER! I thoroughly recommend Immigration Pros. This is an immigration firm, so they have many different immigration lawyers assigned to your case depending on their specialty. So they have LMIA (dealt with them for that, super professional and helpful) and have a lawyer helping me with my PR application now. They speak Spanish, English and other languages, too. Fees are within the normal range (actually cheaper than one Immigration Lawyer that I dealt with before who turned out to be completely incompetent.)

My only complaint would be that they do have an office downtown, but prefer to handle everything by phone or email. To me this was great only because I work full-time and have very little time to go downtown and meet with them, but some people prefer meeting in person since it gives them some reassurance that they are not being scammed. So far, they do not seem like any sort of scam or rip off company at all. I can honestly say I recommend 100%. Very trustworthy, helpful with all questions and they don't push to do anything that you don't want to. Everything they've done has been with my conesnt, I still have access to my application to check and request anything on my behalf if I needed to, and I still get all email updates on my email address. So I'm in the loop all the way through.

Here's the link: http://www.immigrationpros.ca/

Hope it helps!

sorry but they are rubbish, they have so many clients they dont even have enough time to look at your application. They will reply you once in 3 days which sometimes gets on your nerves

I think if your case is not too complex then you don't need one.

However, if there are any complexity - you may need one.

Please PM - I've connection to one (few of my friends immigrated via him), but he is not in GTA. :)

Good luck. :0

the thing is, it is for a friend. i will explain his situation here, if someone can help :

- grade 12 from back home
- 2 year business diploma from canada
- one year work experience as a bakery supervisor
- ielts score is overall 6, but trying to improve
- total crs is approx. 320
- less than 1 year left on pgwp

want to check out the options, checked with a few consultants but seems like they want to rip off the money. they just keep saying okay bring in the documents and we will start the process. most of them are asking for 5k plus any documentation fees = totaling to around 8-9k $$(which i think is not required). the case is not that complicated, but yes expert advice is required before proceeding for lmia or creating the profile.

time is slipping away like sand and profile needs to be created asap. any help or advice will be really appreciated.

He cannot get an ITA in that score. If he can get a PNP nomination or LMIA then he can take care of the application on his own.

His score is way too low for EE. There are 2 options for him. 1. Get regular PNP or 2. get an LMIA to boost his score.

LMIA is next to imposible to get for a position like bakery supervisor. So only regular PNP left. If he can boost his score to at least 400 he can try his luck for OOPNP. But no guarantee. He might try PNP from other provinces as well. Like SINP.

He can find all information he needs in this forum.

Forget about immigration consultant, there is nothing they can do about it. His situation is straight forward. Too low CRS score.

if you've got the money... which i must mention around 10K.. there are no better lawyers in the entire GTA than Green and Spiegel OR Desloges Law Group...

these people are highly acclaimed lawyers, they are invited to conferences and discussions with Immigration ministers and policy makers etc.

i know several people who have applied through them and have successfully obtained PR.... i just couldn't afford their big ask...

so if you want good/genuine/honest immigration lawyers... it's them... all those qualities come for a big price tag for their services..

OOPNP is not an option as PNP can only be applied within 2 years of graduation, which is already over.
In addition, OOPNP is for people who have at least a bachelor's degree, but my friend does not have any bachelor's.

we thought of going for lmia, as the employer agreed to provide the documents. but getting an approval is something that we cannot be sure of.

If his employer is willing to go through all the hassles tp get LMIA for him then he should definitely go for it. It takes long time to process it and the chance of succesful is very thin.

Having said that there are several people who sucessfully obtained their LMIA. Not sure how did they get it but yeah they made it. As this is the last option available for him, then don't worry too much about cost/money. If I were him i will bet all in. Get the best immigration lawyer not only in GTA but in CANADA to secure an LMIA for whatever position he is applying for.

I heard a good lawyer in Calgary who saved someone from deportation due to crime issue just at the very last minute. Sharma Harsanyi. Google him you might find something.

Dont get a cheap one... get the best one.. there s a reason why those lawyers put sky rocketing rate for their service.
