Suggestion for landing at emerson(Manitoba)-usa border

HI all,
As My passport is dispatched today from ottawa i am planning to do my landing at emerson border on this weekend. so if anyone in this forum did landing at this port please share your experience and any suggestions or advice you guys have for me would be really appreciated.
Since i am not gonna drive from Canada border to us border how far are two borders. my friend is accompanying me till the Canada border since he dose not have us visa.

Hi There

I accompanied my friend two weeks ago at this border. I don't think You can walk and cross border here. You can drop your friend at Travel Manitoba building ( yellow building with blue roof, horse riding man statue at front) pick him up on your way back. I would suggest you to go early morning 7 or 8 am, less traffic makes things easier. Process is smooth, USA immigration asked my friend lot of questions and checked his car too. Canadian side everyone was friendly. Good luck!
