Hi! I just want to ask you something regarding a sudden change in marital status while the FSW immigrant application is still on the process. Here it goes, the thing is my fiance and I are planning to get marry in the Philippines when I arrived there in July (I'm here in Monreal, QC on a temporary working permit only). He already got a response from CIC which is now waiting him for a reply from the Canadian Embassy in Manila, Philippines. The agency who assists him in processing his papers said to wait for 2-3 months from that moment he received a reply from CIC.let's say he got his MR in May and grant a visa after a month or two and that would be July. Is it possible that we can continue to plan to get marry in July?will it affect his visa if there's a sudden change in his marital status?cos if ever he got his visa as a single and plan to fly to canada as married, will it affect his status as an immigrant in coming here in Canada? what shall be the best thing to do, should we wait until he landed here and get married or should it be fine if we plan to get married in Philippines before he landed here? any reply is greatly appreciated..thank you so much!

If he marries before he "lands" his visa is no longer valid and he can't sponsor his spouse as s/he was not examined is no longer a member of the family class. So he would have to "land" return the Philippines, marry, return to Canada and submit sponsorship and application.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Yes. So long as she wasn't part of his initial application.
If he wants to add her now, that might delay his application somewhat but the benefit would be that he wouldn't need to sponsor her later.

what if we get married here in Canada after he landed and he'll not need to sponsor me anymore to become PR,instead I'll just wait for my papers to finish after my 2 years of contract (btw I'm on a live-in-caregiver program) and apply on my own as a PR here in Canada. Would that be possible? or will it have any complications at all?

I don't know if this helps answer anyone's questions, but I just came across this nugget in OP 6 Manual:
Family members can be added to the application at any time during the process, including after the visa is issued but prior to obtaining permanent resident status. Applicants should be counselled to inform the visa office immediately if their family composition has changed. Please see OP 2, Section 7.7 for more information on adding a family member during processing.
To include adopted children, spouses, or common-law partners as accompanying family
members, R4 requires that the relationship must be genuine or not one entered into primarily for immigration purposes.
If family members are added to the application during processing, they must be screened for
inadmissibility before any permanent resident visa is issued.
