Hi everyone,

First of all congrats to all successful applicants who made through the first 5000 applicants today for June 2016 Pool.

Like me, many of us were slogged far away in a que of 18000 since the clock ticked by 8:30 am (Montreal Time). Would please like to share tips for the next pool so we can organise us better for the next in take. Some common questions would be:

1. When did you arrived on site, on time or a slight earlier?
2. Did you got set on multiple Pc's?
3. Did you had better internet?
4. Did you managed to logged in from various locations? is it possible?

Please feel free to share your views & experience as well. You tips could be someone's future.

Once again, Congratulations big time :)

Thanks. I have shared my experience below.

1. When did you arrived on site, on time or a slight earlier? - Before eight minutes, but can't help that.
2. Did you got set on multiple Pc's? - I got 2 Pcs. I guess browser could be the important one.
3. Did you had better internet? - Don't think so. One Pc had 15Mbps speed which got Queue Number around 18K and the other had 4Mbps and got QN 7K.
4. Did you managed to logged in from various locations? is it possible? - Yes, try to logged in through different browsers.

Actually, i couldn't find the pattern how they had made a Queue because internet speed and time to open the site are irrelevant in my case.

Hope this will help others in next intake.

I have setup 2 machines with 2 internet connections and opened 4 different browsers(2 on each machine). Only one browser that was IE10 got the number 3766 in the queue rest all browsers got more than 20000 in the queue.

I clicked on sign in button at 8:20 AM Montreal time. I logged in from US, there will be little advantage if you are connecting from US. I just waited in the queue from 8:20 AM till 8:30 AM, it automatically put me in queue at 8:31 AM with queue number 4700. Nothing fancy I believe it is luck and speed of your internet connection.

True. LUCK is the biggest factor. :)

Interesting. What is this little advantage if one is connecting from US?

Hi Guyz,

I am able to submit the application. My experience was quite amazing. I just did a simple trick and was able to place myself as 487th in the Q.

I opened the website by 8:20am from 3 different browser.

Chrome, Mozilla and Safari.

All the there browsers I started creating new tabs by clicking ' Sign In ' button starting from 8:29:50am onwards. As MIDI already said that they will be resetting the Q on 8:30am. The timer in the site was running some 8min slow than usual time.

Finally I am able to submit the application by waiting for some 10 mins in the Q. However, some or the tabs that I opened was in a not responding state in the meantime. But I got login page successfully in 2 tabs finally. Filed it, checked the acknowledgement and got the confirmation email in my inbox.

I logged in from India, used a normal broadband connection having 10mbps of speed.

My Experience was quite amazing and mind you I never thought initially when I get in Q that i will be able to submit.

My Q Number was some where in 9100.

I Clicked on Se Connecter Tab at 8:16 Montreal time using only one PC and a single browser. I used Opera browser.

On clicking I was directed to cout down page, than after counter ended I was redirected to the Waiting room where I was assigned 9100 number.

Finally, At arround 11:47 Montreal time, I was able to Submit and Pay my application fees.

Not just luck and internet speed. ISP's closeness to Canada is an important factor, since we are all logging on by 8:30AM, those that get to the top of the queue will be based on the number of hops to their server. What i did was to set up three different connections using three different ISP's. One at home in Nigeria, Another at the office also in Nigeria. For the third, i connected to my office server in London and setup another session there. When the positions came up, my home internet was number 44,000, office internet was 21,000, while the London office internet was 11,000. i patiently waited on the London office internet and luckily got in.

My advise is submit as close to Canada as possible, even if it means calling someone over there to assist. You can use Teamviewer to setup remote sessions if necessary.

Great, being on 9100, did you managed to receive any confirmation. I though after 5000 no one would be able to make through.
